Good morning,Â
We have a subscriber at a university using Ansys HFSS 23 R1 for thesis simulations. The installation of Ansys EDT seems fine, and his connection to our licence server (off-campus) is secure and robust.Â
Our licence bundle is your "Campus Solutions" feature list, which includes the anshpc features, of which we have ample for this person to borrow.Â
This subscriber has been trying to run a 20-core simulation. We see a connection in our local licence server log files like the following.
electronics_desktop (4 mins.)
electronics3d_gui (4 mins.)
elec_solve_hfss/level1/2, anshpc (30 secs.)
Â
The Message Manager in Ansys EDT 23 R1 reports back the following:
"Solving adaptive frequency... process hf3d error: Unexpected failure. Please contact..."
Â
If all else is fine, is it possible that this error is caused by there being no MPI software installed? If so, how do we direct the student to look for this program installation in Linux? Â
Your help is appreciated in this matter.Â
Â
regards,
Â

Good afternoon,Â
The issue we were debugging with the student in question was not caused by missing MPI software. The trouble was more general: Missing dependencies, and/or configuration. We have sought other (local department) help for the student.Â
Thank you for your attention.Â
