Issue with Overlapping Bodies After Using Split Body in ANSYS Spaceclaim

      Dear all,

I have a part with a complex geometry. I want to use the Split Body command to divide it into smaller, sweepable sections. Before performing the operation, my part is completely flawless—there are no overlapping bodies or unwanted gaps between parts.

However, after using the Split Body command, an almost imperceptible overlap appears between the divided bodies. I know that I can fix these new interferences using the Interference command, but in some cases, it causes issues for other bodies.

The overlap of the parts I have divided is quite frustrating. Should I ignore this issue, or is there a way to prevent it? Do these overlaps cause problems in the mesh since they are very small?

I am currently using ANSYS 2021 R1, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, I cannot upload images of the part and the resulting geometry.

      My sincere regards,
      Dogancan

      Hi Dogancan,

What cutter body (Face ,Plane, Edge etc) are you using with Split Body command?
Can you please check the if that's accurate?

Otherwise, while using interference tool instead of clicking on Green Check mark, select and fix specific Interference region.

      Thanks and Regards
      Atharv
