The Virtual Time Domain Reflectometry training course describes time domain reflectometry (TDR) theory and application using the Ansys Circuit software within the Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform. Transmission line concepts, such as impedance discontinuities and time delay, manifest in time domain reflectometry measurements and related simulations. Frequency domain S-parameter models can be used in transient simulations to generate TDR results.
Learning Outcomes:
Following the completion of this course, you will be able to perform virtual TDR measurements.
Prerequisites:
- Any prior experience with Ansys Electronics Desktop RF circuit design, is helpful.
- Knowledge of high-speed digital circuit design, including S-parameters, transmission lines, and impedance discontinuities, is highly recommended.
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in 2021 R2 release. However, due to kernel change, simulation files compatible from 2025R1 version are also provided.
