The Getting Started with Ansys Q3D Extractor® parasitic extraction electromagnetic simulation software for Electromagnetic Compatibility course introduces Q3D with lectures on workflow and solution setup.  This course does not include matrix reduction, which can be found in the Q3D Extractor for Low Frequency Power Getting Started course.  There are four workshops.  The first one practices basic Q3D Extractor simulation setup, including assignment of terminals and nets. The simulation results are DC and AC inductance. The second workshop, using the same circular connector example, adds 2D Extractor analysis to represent a length of cable and Nexxim transient circuit simulation. The third workshop practices basic Q3D Extractor simulation setup using a power module example and Q3D RLGC component extraction. The fourth workshop, using the same power module example, adds Nexxim transient circuit simulation to the extracted Q3D RLGC component.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Set up a basic Q3D simulation on a circular connector and power module.
  • Set up a Q3D analysis.
  • RLGC component extraction for power module.
  • Nexxim transient circuit simulation of circular connector and power.

Prerequisites:

  • Familiarity with the Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with power electronics quantities like inductance.
  • AEDT 3D Modeling Getting Started self-paced training module.

Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2024R2 release.

  • Cost:
    $450.00
  • Course Duration: 4-6 HOURS
