Question: I know how to generate the total displacement plots for all modes, but how do I EASILY generate nodal stress plots for all modes? Also how can I likewise generate directional deformation plots for all modes? Answer: There is no direct way to achieve this using UI options in Workbench Modal Analysis for the stress plots. Attached please find an example. To change any of the command parameters, user can refer to the APDL command help. Following is an alternate method using UI instead of APDL script command object for Directional Deformation result: – Go to the ‘graph’ window and select all modes >> RMB click and say “Create Mode Shape Results”. – This will create Total Deformation – Select all the total deformation (ctrl +Shift) – In the details of total deformation >> Type >> Direction Deformation
