In addition to learning the power of Discovery AIM in these tutorials, the following application examples will expand your knowledge and discovery to new levels.
Download and open these files with saved solutions in Discovery AIM and review the setup and solution to gain an understanding of what ANSYS can help you Discover.
Â
1)Â Structural-Thermal Simulation of a Heat Sink
Application example of a structural-thermal simulation of a finned heat sink that is fixed on both ends and has a prescribed heat transfer coefficient. The results show the temperature distribution in the heat sink as well as the displacement due to thermal expansion. This project requires release 19.0 or newer.
Â
2)Â Electromagnetic-Thermal Simulation of a Planar Transformer
Application example of a planar transformer simulation with electromagnetic-thermal coupling. This simulation analyses the frequency response at 110 kHz and takes into account core losses and eddy effects. This project requires release 19.0 or newer.
Â
Â
3)Â Fluid-Solid Heat Transfer and Structural Simulation of an Air Cooled Engine
Application example of an air cooled engine simulation with fluid-solid heat transfer and structural coupling. A heat source is specified in the engine and convective cooling effects from the surrounding air are calculated as well as the temperature distribution through the engine. The engine temperatures are then sent to a structural simulation, where the thermally induced stresses are calculated. This project requires release 19.0 or newer.
4)Â Fluid-Solid Heat Transfer Simulation of a Cold Plate
Application example of fluid-solid heat transfer of a cold plate. This case is set up with multiple materials in a single solid thermal region. This project requires release 19.0 or newer.
