On start up or during a pause in a run?

On start up you set the process count, and you should then see an error if you try and use more than your licence permits. Note it is possible to launch 8 cores parallel on a 4 core machine, and it won't help performance. GPUs behave differently, and unless you're using the new GPU solver I'd leave those alone for now.

During a pause in a run, check the options under the Parallel tab (top ribbon) and I think it's listed in the Load Balancing menu.

loading balacing menu show number  of cores that you set at launch.

Can I find this in licence manager?

Yes and no. The LM will show what's being used, but I'm not sure if it'll tell you how many you're using (ie itemised list) as opposed to total for everyone.

The licence file is wherever you put it, or where IT put it on the system. You're looking for a line something like

      INCREMENT aa_a_hpc ansyslrnd

Unless you're using Ansys Student, which is covered here https://www.ansys.com/academic/students/ansys-student
