Regading Drag,lift forces and moment

Hi all,nI hope you are doing well. I am doing 3D bridge modeling in Ansys fluent for the computation for drag, lift forces. Can anybody please tell me will there be any difference in the forces, if I select whole bridge in the name selection and compute force on the whole bridge AND in the other scenario I just select front side of the bridge for the force computation. Which approach will give me the best results or it will be the same? Secondly, Can I compute forces on different elements locally, like force on only one girder along with slab of the bridge or I should compute force on the whole bridge? My origin is at centre of the bridge. I am using VOF,Kw-SST. Please help me in this regard. Thanks n

It depends on direction vector you are using for force computation. nIf you want to calculate only for one girder, you will need different named selection for the same. nPlease see help manual for more details about these commands. nnPlease also have a look at nRegards,nKeyurnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning ForumnHow to access ANSYS help linksnn
