Points in a straight line get merged into one line

I'm using a script in spaceclaim to generate a contour. This works well, but I introduced a straight line into this contour. 

This contour is made up of evenly spaced points connected with a straight line.
If I change viewmode to solid to create the gemoetry from my sketch, points in a straight line get merged into one line. 
Per se this is not an issue, but I would like to mesh this with one point per line, 
which is now only one point for a long straight line on this straight segment.
