SubscriberHello,
To improve my FSI interpolation at the solid-fluid interaction layer of ANSYS fluent and transient structural I wanted to create matching meshes. After creating the fluent file, I exported the boundary layer mesh, which has format .msh. Ths format can't get uploaded into the mechanical transient structure. Do you have any tips on how to match the meshes? My mechanical structure consists of a flexible shell with frictionless contact with rigid bodies and my fluid body consists of the volume inside of this shell.
Thank you in advance!

Ansys EmployeeTo have a good mapping between the participant interfaces:
- Make sure FSI interfaces on fluid and solid sides overlap. The recommendation is to use the solid geometry for fluid volume extraction (the same source geometry).
- Meshes used should first resolve geometry curvature and physics (e.g., flow gradients, stress concentrations).
- For conserved quantities (force, heat flow), the coarser target mesh is acceptable. Similar mesh on both interfaces is also acceptable, but not required.
- For non-conserved quantities, such as displacement and temperature, a finer target mesh is preferred (e.g., a CFD mesh is usually finer than a Mechanical Mesh).
