SubscriberGood afternoon,
Our users that are running Maxwell simulations are causing a licence feature check-in issue. Here are the symptoms as we understand them.
- Software used is Ansys EDT 2020 R2, in batch mode on a Cluster and used on local desktop in a GUI;
- Our Ansys licence contains only the newer commercial/PPE feature names (installed on January 29th, 2021);
- Ansys EDT 2020 R2 must be set to use the PPE features and we have told users this is the case;
- Our Ansys Licence Manager software is release 2021R1.4, and we updated to this version in May, 2021; and
- Feature that is not checking back in is elec_solve_maxwell.Â
We started seeing this problem about 38 days ago, according to our Altair licence monitor, and the feature checkouts accumulate. That is a bit after the time that we updated our Ansys Licence Manager software, undertaken because of an unrelated issue.
This is the only feature manifesting this behaviour. Has any other customer reported this problem?
We license the features in a "Campus Solutions" bundle.
Sincerely,
CMC Microsystems Technical staff

Forum ModeratorWe have not seen this behavior anywhere else. Is this only happening with 2020R2, have you tried with different versions to see if there is any different behavior?
