August 26, 2024 at 5:34 amasustark700Bbp_participantHey Guys! How are you doing?Well, I've been designing an impeller,Kindly consider me as a beginner throughout the conversation. Now I am trying to generate a performance map {nominal mass flow rate v/s pressure ratio} of the impeller to know the operational range.Hence, I need to Run multiple simulations, to generate points which leads to graph.Whereas, I run a steady simulation for 3 hours with 1000 iterations and a transient simulation for one and a half hours with 200-time steps with 5 sub-iterations.
I cannot afford such high computational time. so how can I reduce it?It would be warmly appreciated if any replies.Sending positive vibes!cheap person 😁 -

Hello,
Consider the use of a reduced domain, with periodicity if your analysis allows for that.
Other options to reduce computational time is to reduce your model, which can often comes with trade-offs that can affect the accuracy, stability, and reliability of your results.
You can consider using a coarser, more efficient mesh, which means you would refine only the regions of interest and coarsen the mesh away from those regions. Make sure that your mesh remains sufficient to resolve important flow features/phenomena for your analysis.
If it doesn't affect the stability of your simulation, you can see if increasing the time step size is possible, but you will lose temporal resolution.

Hello Federico sir.
it is amazed to see you here tooo
i totally understood your answer sir, i will be sharing the feedback after implementing it.
but apart from this forum, I need your years of expertiese in my learning journey.
Please read it: Context!!!
sending positive vibes again...!

Also have a look at the moving/single reference frame options.
