Ansys Employee1. The graphics card does not meet the minimum hardware requirements to run Discovery Live.
Ansys Discovery Live relies on the latest GPU technology to provide its computation and visual experience. To run the software, you will require:
A dedicated NVIDIA GPU card (Quadro recommended, GeForce supported) based on the Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal, or Turing architecture. Maxwell 2000 or better strongly recommended. Most dedicated NVIDIA GPU cards produced in 2013 or later will be based on one of these architectures. At least 4GB of video RAM (8GB preferred) on the GPU and capable of supporting OpenGL 4.5 and DirectX 11, or higher. Use of integrated graphics is not recommended.
2. The graphics card drivers are outdated.
3. Check if there is DLL file nvcuda.dll in Discovery installation directory and delete it. It is typically in C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv###scdm .
Do Not Delete LLD file: nvcuda.LLD
4. Critical files or changes to the PC that take place during the installation process are blocked by third party antivirus programs or Windows Defender.
To resolve this problem:
a. Uninstall all Discovery products
b. Temporarily disable any antivirus, antimalware, and/or Windows Defender functions
c. Ensure that you have full administrator privileges on the PC
d. Right click the Discovery installer, select Run as Administrator, and follow the prompts to complete the installation
The installation process will need to be allowed to make changes to the Windows Registry and some system folders in Windows. You may need to contact your IT administrator if you do not have sufficient privileges to make the necessary changes.
Thanks,
Win
