SubscriberI’m trying to model the transient thermal response of a thermocouple moving inside a heated ceramic tube. The situation is shown in the picture. The tube solid region is modeled as moving mesh with an expression.  The thermocouple and fluid zones are conformal using dynamic topology. It is 2d axisymmetric.
My question is: How can I create an interface between a solid zone and a combination of fluid and solid zones? (the moving tube and the fluid and solid thermocouple zones) Is this something I can do in Fluent? Is there a better way to model this problem? Is there a resource or example I could study that addresses this?
Thanks in advance!

Ansys EmployeeHello,Â
When you create mesh interfaces in Fluent using the (default) one-to-one pairing method, Fluent will create overlapping and non-overlapping zones for each side of the interface to allow relative movement between the sides.

SubscriberOk, I figured it out. I think the problem was I was setting up the simulation out of order and didn't realize Fluent did this automatically. It's working now, thanks!
