Applying pin connection between solid elements

      Hi

Does anybody have the experience of applying pin connection between two solid elements. By pin connection I mean the bending momoent be zero and rotation can happen independently for those elements. The same thing as MPC type link connection existing in the Abaqus.

      Thanks,

      Mostafa

I do not think a pin would have zero bending moment. It would have zero rotational displacement around the two axes not along the pin axial direction, but in resisting this motion, a moment reaction would be generated. Only rotational around the pin axial direction would be allowed. You should be able to accomplish this with a revolute or cylindrical joint depending on whether the pin is a press-fit.
