Hello, I'm a master's student currently working on my thesis. My job is to find a numerical tool capable of simulating the squeeze flow of an adhesive fluid when it is pressed by a moving substrate against a fixed substrate. I know that the speed could be something like 0.1 mm/s. The initial thickness should be 2 mm and the final thickness should be 1 mm. My question is, do I need to run an FSI simulation or can I just use fluent? If so, what steps will the solution take? What could be the boundary conditions? Thank you!

Assuming the two plates aren't deformed by the fluid then Fluent with VOF will work. You will need moving mesh to simulate the squeezing effect.
