Electronics Thermal Management using Ansys Icepak Software in Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) Platform: Getting Started

Ansys Icepak® electronics cooling simulation software provides flow and thermal management solutions for many types of electronic design applications. The primary goal of this course is to cover the basics of using Ansys Icepak software in the Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform. You will be introduced to the world of electronics thermal modeling through a combination of lectures, workshops and examples/demonstrations.

Learning Outcomes: 

Following Completion of this course you will be able to:

• Understand the overall capabilities of Ansys Icepak software in AEDT platform.
• Create or import geometry into Ansys Icepak software in AEDT platform.
• Set the relevant initial and boundary conditions required to perform a successful thermal simulation.
• Create a good quality mesh, learn about common pitfalls, and other best practices.
• Set up solver settings for a thermal simulation, run the simulation, and post-process the results.
• Run Multiphysics simulations by coupling Ansys Icepak software with AEDT platform electromagnetics solvers (Ansys Maxwell software, Ansys HFSS software, Ansys Q3D Extractor software).
• Get additional resources and support.

Prerequisites:

• A technical education and background in electronics and/or fluid mechanics and heat transfer is recommended.
• This course is designed for users who have little or no experience with Ansys Icepak software in AEDT platform.
