This course covers the fundamental concepts of compressible flow dynamics, one-dimensional compressible flows, Mach number, flow dynamics, thermodynamics, and the impact of normal shock waves. For instance, students will learn about the significance of compressible flow in various scenarios such as flow through nozzles, turbomachinery blade passages, and diffusers. The course also explains the difference between compressible fluid and compressible flow, and introduces the concept of Mach number as a measure of compressibility. Furthermore, the course delves into the concept of normal shock waves and their impact on the Mach number, static temperature, and pressure in a fluid flow.
