width=This course covers the comprehensive study of transport phenomena in Non-Newtonian fluids. It focuses on the quasi-steady analysis of simultaneous heat transfer, mass transfer, and chemical reactions. The course uses real-world examples such as the combustion of a carbon particle, evaporation of a column of liquid, and the melting of a spherical crystal to illustrate the concepts. It also delves into the mathematical equations and assumptions used in the analysis, including the Peclet number, reaction rates, and fluxes at the surface. The course further explores the freezing of salt water, the growth of ice crystals in salt water, and the evaporation of a water droplet suspended in a nitrogen atmosphere. The course concludes with the calculation of the total time for evaporation.
