Gas Sparging using Discrete Phase Model (DPM) in a Mixing Tank (Workshop)
1-2 HOURS
This workshop will present a simulation of sparging of air into water in a mixing tank.
Learning Outcomes:
Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Impart rotational motion to specific cell zones inside the geometry using the Frame Motion option.
- Specify boundary conditions to simulate the rotation of the shafts of the impellers.
- Use the Discrete Phase Model to track the time taken for the DPM particle to exit from the top surface of the mixing tank.
Prerequisites:
- Completion of Ansys Fluent Getting Started: Basics is recommended.
- Completion of Ansys Fluent Getting Started: Beyond the Basics is recommended.
- Some experience with CFD simulations of multiphase flows is desirable.
Please note: These training materials were developed and tested in the 2023R2 release.
