When modeling a plate impacted by a projectile, I used the multi-material Euler processor for the plate part. Why is there no deformation being observed on the back surface of the plate?

This is because the default multi-material Euler boundary is rigid, which doesn’t allow material to flow in or out. In the multi-material Euler part, if the back surface of the target plate is aligned with the Euler boundary you won’t see any movement at the back surface of the target. You have to add some void region behind the plate in order to allow the back surface of material to move.
