Question: I am looking to find out differences between PRIN_S and S in user defined results. Is this redundant? I couldn’t find any mention for the PRIN_S in the help document. Answer: PRIN_S are BETA results in WB. So if you turn off beta features these will not be listed in the worksheet. These are the principal stresses {“1”, “2”, “3”, “INT”, “EQV”} that are calculated from the un-averaged component stresses of an element (like AVPRIN,1). That is, calculate the principal or vector sum values on a per element basis, then average these values from the elements at a common node. S1, S2, S3, SINT, and SEQV are produced in AVPRIN,0 fashion, that is, average component values from the elements at a common node, then calculate the principal or vector sum from the averaged components.
