Problem: While launching Discovery AIM R19.1 from CAD applications like Solid Works, Creo, there is an error message shown below. This error is associated with subscription licensing.
No servers provided.
ANSYSLI_SERVERS:
Cause: When Discovery AIM is launched from any Cad application, it is not able to identify subscription license, and hence the error occurs.
Recommended Solution:
Instead of launching Discovery AIM from any CAD application, open a new session of Discovery AIM and select the required template (for example Structural template). Then select “Import geometry file” and disable “Allow geometry modeling”. See below snapshot. With these settings, when you select the CAD file for import, it will open a new CAD session and import the model in Discovery AIM. You can also specify appropriate Named Selection and Parameter keys to import these features from Creo into Discovery AIM.
This issue has been fixed in R19.2 version.
