EnVision has two licensing levels: free mode, and pro mode. In free mode, there is no panel on the left. EnVision works as a 3D viewer, but some controls are disabled. Any person can run the free mode, it doesn’t require any license. The Pro mode requires a license token. The Pro mode gives access to the panels and some extra features that resemble Ensight. When you launch EnVision, it should say on the top bar if it’s running in pro or standard (i.e. free) mode. At start up, EnVision will check if there’s a seat for the Pro version available. If there is, it will start in Pro mode. That’s the default. If you want to force the free mode, launch EnVision from the shell / cmd prompt with envision102 -standard EnSight users have a fixed number of seats of EnVision Pro for free. However, because of some changes in the license system between different versions, most users with an “old” license file (prior to 19.2) will not have the correct tokens in their license file. So, regenerating the license file and using the license manager for 19.2 will fix the problem. If a user does not not have the EnVision Pro tokens in their license file, EnVision Free starts up without the panel on the left. Once they switch to the R 19.2 license file and licensing system, the tokens are correctly checked out, and EnVision Pro will start automatically.
