How to obtain the residual kinetic energy of a projectile after it impacts a target

User can insert Results Trackers of Kinetic Energy under Solution Information to get the residual kinetic energy of the projectile. Results Trackers should be scoped to the projectile (body). User also needs to turn “retain inertia of eroded nodes” off in Erosion Controls under Analysis Settings so the kinetic energy of the eroded projectile material will not be included. Furthermore, user may need to adjust the recording frequency of results trackers in Output Controls under Analysis Settings to keep the total number of data points in a reasonable number for easy post-processing.
