How to obtain relative displacement between two locations in a PSD analysis?

You cannot directly determine the relative displacement between two locations in a PSD analysis, because the signs of the displacements are not retained. One technique for obtaining relative displacement is to place weak 1D springs between the desired locations. The relative displacement between the ends of the spring elements are the 1 sigma value of the spring force divided by the spring constant. You need to place springs in each component direction to obtain all of the relative component displacements.
