How to get existing part names from my CAD software to SpaceClaim?

      The CAD part names, as they appear in the CAD system, will only be imported to Spaceclaim if the Direct Reader is configured under “CAD Configuration Manager” for that CAD software. The Associative Interface will import parts with generic names such as Solid1, Solid2, etc.
      Another approach is to go to “File menu>>SpaceClaim Options>>File Options>>Workbench” and select “Always use SpaceClaim Reader when possible” option. This option skips the CAD configuration manager’s setting and uses SpaceClaim’s reader to read native CAD files.
