      This is a general procedure that requires the use of a CAD tool in addition to Ansys Mechanical or Meshing. 1, In the CAD program, delete the solid body leaving the “top” & “bottom” surfaces. 2. Import the surface geometry into Ansys Mechanical or Meshing. 3. Insert a frictionless contact between the two surfaces. 4. Insert a Initial Contact Tool. 5. Insert a Gap result. 6. Generate Initial Contact results. Review the Gap result for the surface distance (thickness).
