Does a circuit port also have an intrinsic inductance that should be de-embedded, or does the circuit port not add any inductance?

Each port has a self inductance, as the E-field is injected between conductor and return path. In the case of a lumped gap port on a rectangle, this self inductance can be de-embedded, as the current and its H-field can be calculated on the port solution. The same is valid for circuit ports: they connect the conductor point with the return path point , inject a current, therefore have a H-field and a self inductance, but this can not be de-embedded as the self inductance of a circuit port can not be calculated. that’s why the recommendation is to keep it shorter than lambda/20, what is issued as a warning by the solver, if the circuit port is too long, because than the self inductance which is part of the results could influence the result in a non tolerable way.
