This example is taken from Cornell University’s ANSYS AIM Learning Modules

Consider the rectangular bar pictured below with a length of 120 inches and a height and width of 5 inches. One end of the bar is subjected to heating and can be assumed that said end is at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The other end of the bar is exposed to the environment which is assumed to be at room temperature (80 degrees Fahrenheit).

In this tutorial, we will utilize Discovery AIM to find the temperature throughout the bar and total heat flux.

In this video, you will learn how to create bar geometry required for the analysis.

In this tutorial, we will be using Physics-Aware Meshing. Physics-aware meshing helps automate and simplify your problem setup. With physics-aware meshing, the computational mesh is generated automatically based on the solution fidelity setting and the physics inputs.

In this video, you will learn how to define temperature at 2 ends of the bar.

In this video, you will learn how to check the temperature distribution, total heat flux and heat flow reaction in the model.
