Geometry appears corrupted upon import into SCDM, but is fine in the package it was exported from.

This could be due to SCDM either not displaying the model correctly (display tolerance) or corrupting the CAD on import when it is actually trying to improve it. Three things to try are: 1) In SCDM, under FileSpaceClaim Options, under Popular, change the Rendering Quality to 10. If this fixes the problem, then it is just a display issue. If this doesn’t it could be that the CAD got corrupted on import. 2) In SCDM, under FileSpaceClaim Options, go to File Options and click on General. Here deselect Improve Imported data. Now look to import your geometry. If this doesn’t work, behind the scenes SCDM is still actually doing a little helpful CAD improvements, so to turn these off you can do the following: 3) If you edit the properties of the SCDM start up Icon. So if you have a SCDM Icon on you desk top, right click it and choose properties, or if you haven’t, go to the following installation directory: C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsANSYS 2019 R1 (This is for editing the 2019 R1 version) Right Click on the ‘SCDM 2019 R1’ file and choose Properties. On the Shortcut Tab, and in the Target box, add to the end of what is there with the following: /incubator=”NoInteropHealing” I have attached a screen shot of what it should look like. If you now start SCDM 2019 R1, and open your CAD file, it should hopefully come in as expected.
