Why does the *MSG command fail to display?

      I am using the *MSG command as the last line of my input file to retrieve some information from the analysis. It fails to display. The output window does not indicate an error. It just indicates that the input file has been read. How can this happen? A blank line must follow the *MSG command to indicate the end of the message.
