How to create a PSD curve from time history input?

Generally for generating a PSD curve we start with an input time history (velocity, displacement, or acceleration). Pass this history through a Fast Fourier Transform to get the frequency content of the time signal. Multiply the Fourier components by their conjugate transpose (this is where the ‘units^2’ term comes from). Divide the coefficients by the frequency bin width.
