We generally recommend using Fluent to create DPM animations. This has the advantage that the particle data doesn’t have to be stored as Fluent saves a JPEG picture at each time step and these can then combined at the end of the calculation to create an MPEG animation. The disadvantage is that the format of the animation has to be defined before the calculation is started and cannot be changed. Go to Solution > Activities > Create > Solution Animations to set this up. In CFD-Post, you can record a session file (Session > Start Recording and then load the first of your DPM results files and create the plot you want and write a JPEG file. Then Stop Recording and open the session file in a text editor. You can then add a ‘for’ loop using the Perl Language to repeat the recorded process, once for each DPM file. Then with the JPEGs you can create an MPEG using a free converter from the web.
