Why are reaction forces on nut surface less than the applied bolt pretension?

      The contact region setup should be checked properly. If the nut surface has bonded contact with the flange and the same face is used in contact with another bolt, it is recommended to create proper contact. Split the face of the flange so that contact and target faces are unique for each contact region.
