SubscriberI've recently come back to ANSYS for a new project, but am unable to open the software. Some components open fine, but the Workbench and Mechanical crash after reaching 'Initializing Project' on the loading screen. I've tried restarting and re-installing but am still having the same issue.
In the Windows Event viewer I'm getting this application error which I'm told suggests a corrupted file, but I don't see how this could be the case and still persist after re-installing?

Any thoughts welcome, am at a loss as to what I can try

Ansys EmployeeClose all ANSYS programs.
Open Windows File Explorer and then type in the following in the address line:%APPDATA%\Ansys\v222
hit enter
You should see a directory named:Â
Rename this directory to:Â v222.old
Now try to run.

Ansys Employee@wdavid,
My apologies for the typo!
Go to:
%APPDATA%\Ansys\
hit enter
You should see a directory named: (V2## depeding on version installed)
If version 2022 R2:
v222
Rename this directory to:Â v222.old

SubscriberThanks. I did this and, it created a new directory v222. However, the problem is still not solved, still crashes on the 'initializing project' screen
