Varying winding excitation with frequency (Maxwell Eddy-Solver)

      I want to change the current in my winding according to the used frequency.

      My model has an adaptive frequency of 100 kHz and a sweep for 300, 500, 700, 900 kHz.

      For every frequency I have a specific current for my winding, but using design datasets with pwl(dataset,Freq) does not work. Only the current of the adaptive frequency gets used for the whole sweep.

      Fitting my currents with a polynomial function and writing it in the current field of my winding (like ax^4+bx^3+cx^2+dx+e, where x is the frequency) does not work as well and only yields the current for the adaptive frequency.


      How can I solve this problem?

      Hi @kthelab If I understand your problem correctly, I think, you can run a parametric setup for this.
      Create variables for both current and frequency.
      While setting the parametric analysis select the single value as shown below and add for both current and frequency
      then you can go to table tab and click on Add to add additional rows.
      Here you can edit the values you want and create a combination table for current and frequency (below is an example for a different case).
