Hello everyone,
I am trying to submit the CFD_DEM coupling simulation in our university cluster. I learned that for Ansys-Fluent coupling simulation, I should only submite the job from Rocky and Rocky will launch Fluent automaticlly. However, there are some problems confusing me a lot.
- which files do I need for submission in HPC? Generally, for jobs in HPC I need the setup file and batch file. Does Rocky work in the same way?
- Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to export the setup from Rocky. LIke FLuent, I can set up the simulation regularly, and write case&dat. file for HPC in the end. But how can I export the setup file from Rocky?
If anyone has any experience, could you please give me any advice? Thank you in advance.

Hi Sang.
Rocky does not export a traditional setup file like Fluent. Instead, the entire configuration is stored within the.rocky
project. To submit a CFD-DEM coupling simulation using Ansys Fluent and Rocky on an HPC cluster, you need:
- Files: Use the
.rocky
file and import on Rocky the Fluent.cas
and.dat
files using the 2 way coupling option. - Setup: Configure in Rocky, then submit. Rocky will launch Fluent automatically.
- Execution: Ensure both are installed and configured on the cluster. Rocky runs on the head node, limiting scalability.
To download the .slurm archive to submit the jobs you can access the Ansys Customer Portal (Current Release (ansys.com) and Download the Additional Package, there you will find the archive in the Job Schedulers Scripts folder.
