SubscriberI am trying to model airflow through a diesel generator using an rotating enclosure around a static fan, but the enclosure I am trying to simulate flow through is not solid.
I am very amateur when it comes to Fluent so feel free to dumb down any answers as much as possible
Please help!!

SubscriberHello, I think you need to make your "wall" three dimensional so that it has a thickness. That way you should have a domain inbetween the outsides of the wall which you can then set to be a solid in fluentÂ

Forum ModeratorGood answer mpz203, but you can also have thin walls in Fluent. We typically use these for baffles/casings to keep the cell count down.Â
Check the model: are those surfaces defined as walls? By default they'll be interior type coming from meshing. This assumes you split the CAD up correctly: you may find the fan zone split out but the casing didn't.Â
