Hi everyone - hope one of you reading could help me out please,
I need to calculate the shear force that the 18 bolts of a driven wheel (orange in the attached picture) must withstand during acceleration. The orange flywheel has to be accelerated from rest to 100 RPM in 0.4 seconds. I have the following data: the wheel's moment of inertia, the torque applied to the 18 bolts, relevant dimensions, and other necessary parameters. The drive wheel (blue in the picture) is the one transmitting the rotational movement to the driven wheel.
Hope someone can through a little bit of light here! Many thanks in advance,
Ike

Hi
Â
We have a set of courses for bolted connections.
Â
It is free also so very good to look at before setting up your model (courses show ways to set up connections):

All the best
