I am trying to run a simulation with ANSYS Maxwell but every time it pops up "Unable to initialize scheduler to rsm: Unable to communicate with scheduler on this machine (code: FFFFFFEF). This is the first simulation I try to do since I installed the software. Thank you for the support.

Hello, the error message "Unable to initialize scheduler to rsm: Unable to communicate with scheduler on this machine (code: FFFFFFEF)" that you're encountering in ANSYS Maxwell suggests there might be an issue with the Remote Simulation Manager (RSM) service or the communication settings on your machine. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Check if the RSM service is running on your machine. If it's not, you will need to start it.
2. Ensure that your firewall is not blocking communication. You might want to try disabling the firewall temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
3. Confirm that the Ansoft Service Port has not been changed from the default 32958 in Tools > Options > General Options > Remote Analysis Options. If it has been changed, revert it back to 32958, restart Maxwell, and try to solve again.
4. Verify that the local machine can contact the RSM port on the remote node by using the telnet command:telnet 32958
. If the terminal appears to be hanging, then the connection was successful.
5. Make sure the user listed in the RSM service is an administrator and that the COM engine is registered with the Ansys Electromagnetics RSM Service. You can register the engines by going to Start > All Programs > Ansys Electromagnetics > Ansys EM Suite [version] > Register with RSM.
If none of these steps resolve the problem, it is recommended to contact Ansys Support for further assistance.
