SubscriberHello, everyone
I know that various posts on this topic has been made on this topic. I want to migrate my workbench files from 2023 R2 to 2023 R1 (my guide uses a license but I am in the student version of 2023 R2). I am well aware that Ansys doesnot have backward compatability. However, I wish to know what kind of files (if any) will open in the earlier versions if the files have been created in a newer version.
Thanks in advance!

Forum ModeratorSome of the files might work, but it can be very model dependent. Maybe explain what you're trying to open as not all staff are familiar with all of the products. Â

SubscriberSpecifically speaking, I have design modeller files (.agdb file format) and Mesh files. I tried with the design modeller files. Does not seem to work. I received an error message entitled "Higher version files do not work in lower versions".
Thanks for the input. I guess then, I might have to redo my project.

Forum ModeratorYou can export the DM files as Step and import that, but you'll lose all parameter information. The .msh for Fluent will work, but the meshing database possibly won't.Â
I'd be looking at upgrading the campus/licenced software to 2024R1.Â
