SubscriberHello, we are planning a migration of our Ansys LM from RHEL 7 to 8. Is there any documentation and software requirements that could assist us with this effort?Â

Ansys Employee@oitvas,Â
If you are moving to a different machine, you will have to rehost the entitlements to the new server. Also, update the license manager (LM) to the latest version. Once the new server is up and running. Make sure to uninstall the LM and remove the installation folder from the previous machine. And delete any copy of the previous license file from your systems. We have the following KB for the process.
- Ansys license manager installation guide for Linux – Ansys OpticsÂ
- Required libraries for the Ansys license manager on Linux – Ansys OpticsÂ
- How to obtain your license server's HostID information – Ansys OpticsÂ
- Managing entitlements in the Ansys licensing portal (rehost) – Ansys OpticsÂ
- Ansys license manager configuration for share license access – Ansys OpticsÂ
- Uninstalling the Ansys license manager – Ansys OpticsÂ
Hope this helps.Â
