Mechanical do not read the Solver

      Hello to everyone

I am new about the Ansys world, and I met an issue during my training phase. I installed a full Ansys version on my laptop , but when I tried to Solve a model ( from the mechanical launched in workbench) I read:" An error occured while starting the solver module. Please refer to the Troubleshooting in the Ansys Mechanical ".

The point is that when I began the training the solver worked correctly, but after an Windows update ( I have a Windows 10) the solver stopped to work. I read a similar discussion on this forum about this issue but apparently the solution suggested do not work for me ( I am sure to have enough RAM and free memory).

So I tried ( following an idea suggested in a discussion) to save an .dat file with the full model from Tools in Mechanical and run it using the Mechanical APDL launcher in batch mode and it worked . So I was able to load the result in Mechanical "by-passing" the problem. It was great but now this solution doesn't work anymore ( after a new Windows automatic update)...

Now I am only able to solve the model in APDL but from the Mechanical interface ( launched from the Workbanch) I am not more able to load the results (Tools=> Read Results File).. an message appear: " An unknown error occured during solution. Check the Solver Output on the Solution Information object for possible causes". I am sure that the .out of the model is correct and actually, if I load the .db created by the run in Ansys Mechanical Pro Utility it works perfectly and I can run the model obtaining results.

Could someone please help me to solve this issue ? It appears clear that the solver works and that there is not problem about firewall of my Antivirus ( I always stopped it !) . There is something that prevent Mechanical to launch the solver or read an .out file corrrectly runned..Someone has some idea ..Thank You for the help !!!

Can you try the following: Verify all Ansys programs are shut down.
      Browse to %APPDATA%\Ansys
      rename v212 to v212.old
212 is for 2021 R2, please adjust to which version you are using.
