SubscriberOne of our users has reported an issue where ANSYS Lumerical cannot find a solver feature from our license server mid-simulation.
- It has occurred on two machines and happens with both the FDTD and RCWA solvers.
- It does not always occur at the same time during their simulations.
- It has also occured with Lumerical 2022 and 2024. And I've also tried updating the license manager on the server to 2024, but it did not help.
- The errors in the job details on their machine usually say it cannot find the solver feature, but sometimes it says the FLEXlm server is not responding.
- The job details show the correct license path. And I can see in the license log that their machine has been checking out features. I do not see any errors or rejections on the license server log.
Could us some help troubleshooting this issue, particularly where I could find useful logs/info on the user's machine.
I'm also attaching a few screenshots the user has sent that showing the errors in the job details (I have blacked out our license server names).

Ansys Employee@bpcarty,
The error indicates that you are having intermittent network connection issues with your license server. licensing error: -5 and licensing error: -15Â Â
>>Fixing common licensing errors – Ansys OpticsThis typically happens if you are connecting to the server via Internet/VPN. Fixing the network connectivity issues should resolve the issue of not being able to connect and checkout the license from your server. Otherwise, you might have to host/run the licenses on a server on your local area network (LAN/same location) to avoid Internet/WAN connectivity issues.Â
