Load Fluent results files (cas and dat) into a single case

Hi, I am doing an FSI simulation on HPC with Fluent and transient/static Mechanical. The fluid output results are stored in the folder Fluent_2.

However, when I tried to load files in CFD-Post, I did not see the option to load all cas files into a single file. The output format for case and data files is cas.h5 and dat.h5. The option to load complete history as a single case only appears before I choose the folder (see the snapshot), and it disappears right after I get into the folder.

      Could you give some suggestions?

      Thanks!

      Eric

I think you can only load multiple data files if the case is unchanged. As it's FSI that's not the case. What are you trying to do? Ensight may be an option, but you may be as well using journals or state files to automate image creation.

      Hi Rob,

I am trying to visualize the evolution of velocity/pressure in the fluid domain, and generate movies. However, now I can only load one state at a time and when I click "timestep selector" or "animation"option, it cannot recognize the rest of cases. When I try to select multiple files, CFD-Post simply load cases as separate windows.

      Sincerely,

      Eric

Yes, because the mesh has been updated. Ensight may be a better option. Alternatively, journals in Fluent can be used; simple if you already have the image objects set up.

Thanks Rob, I just figured it out. I set the output file option from CFX back to legacy which gives me the zip file of cas and dat that now can be recognized by CFD-Post!

Ah, yes, CFD Post doesn't like the h5 format.
