SubscriberIn the course linear elastic material, in the lecture Generalised Hooke’s law-lesson 3 by Mr Bhargava Systa sir when defining stress as function of strain the formula given is
Â
Kindly check the formula and confirm whether it is correct or not.
In my opinion as εxy, εyz , & εzx are representing true strain, in R.H.S in strain matrix in place of εxy it should be 2εxy , in place of εyz it should be 2εyz , in place of εzx it should be 2εzx .

Ansys EmployeeHi Sunil Khabia
Linear elastic is infitesimal strains so engineering stress-strain (not true stress strain). Â
