SubscriberI am doing a turbulent multiphase simulation with an injection of water vapor.
I wanted to test the inclusion of a porous media in the simulation. When I activate porous zone, I only see an option to change the porosity. In my initial testing (without the above models selected), I saw other options such as direction vector 1 and direction vector 2 as well as viscous and inertial resistance.
I had a tough time reading the user guide to find out why it was gone when I activated the other models. I'm not sure if I have the wrong settings. Was this intended or did I do something wrong?

Ansys EmployeeThe other options are phase specific and not mixture specific. For bulk you can only provide the porosity. For the other phases you define the pressure losses independently

SubscriberThank you so much! I missed checking the options for the phases.
Could you also help me by answering exactly what porosity means? Based on what I've read it means the percentage of void spaces, so if I set a porosity of 1, the whole porous zone will be a void space?

Ansys Employeeporosity = void where the fluids can flow through the rock.

SubscriberSo if I set a porosity of 0.7, then 70% of the rock can have fluids flow?

AdministratorYes, this is correct!
