SubscriberGood morning,
In our Ansys licence log files, we are seeing a new unsupported feature called "OFF". What we think is happening:
One of our subscribers seems to be using Discovery for structural-based layout and simulation. Our "Campus Solutions" bundle includes both Discovery "Modelling and "Simulation" using features disco_level1 and disco_level2.
Is the absence of disco_level3 reported as "OFF"/unsupported in log files when a user attempts a simulation using this tier of feature? Please advise.
Sincerely,
CMC Microsystems Technical Support staff

Ansys EmployeeWhat error is the users receiving?
In the %TEMP%\.ansys on Windows or $HOME\.ansys on linux, where the user is running, the directory should contain .out files for the program they are running.
Is an Options file in place that limits users to what features can be used? -

SubscriberGood morning, Mr. Karnos,
From our licence logs, we could see the person was using "Discovery" for structural analysis. Features checked out were:
ansys
anshpc (8 additional cores)
disco_level1
disco_level2
My CMC colleague also checked his account and our licence logs to see if the person was being denied access to any feature. This was not the case.
We will check with this user regarding what activity caused this "OFF" report in our logs. We suggested that this person use "Workbench" or "Mechanical" instead of "Discovery" for structural simulations.
Regards,
CMC Microsystems Technical Support staff
