Issue with No-load current from ANSYS Maxwell 2D transient analysis of SynRM

I have an issue with finding no-load current of the 5hp SynRM designed in ANSYS Maxwell, The results from transient analysis setup show very high rms stator currents of 350 A when the motor is voltage fed at 0 Nm of load torque in motion setup as shown in attached images, Can someone help me resolve this as i don't expect such high current is possible at no-load practically.

Hi, Please disable "Consider Mechanical Transient" and set the correct initial Position angle in Motion Setup so that the motor doesn't produce torque - no reluctance torque.

I tried disabling the mechanical transient but there's still no difference in the current magnitudes. Also how to know which inital angular postion is correct?

Hi, It is when the rotor's axis is perpendicular to the direction of the stator's magnetic field. You can create a parameter for the angle and then create parametric setup and vary the rotor initial ange to check how the torque is influenced.

I have tried varying intial rotor angle and found the rms current. It still shows very high values even after disabling the mechanical transient.
